The Topaz & Weston Difference, Where Art Meets Engineering. The New Standard of Professional Lutherie. A great guitar is a living, breathing instrument. It requires more than just a "tune-up"—it requires a master’s touch and a scientist’s precision. At Topaz & Weston Instruments, we’ve combined two lifetimes of world-class expertise to ensure your instrument plays better than the day it was born. The Topaz & Weston Difference 1. The Plek Revolution We are one of the few shops in the world where the person operating the Plek machine has ten years of experience in it’s ownership and operation. Our Plek Station scans your neck under real string tension, leveling frets to an accuracy of .0002 inches. It is mathematical perfection for your fretboard. 2. Specialized Desert Restoration The Mojave climate is notoriously hard on wood. As a full service shop, we specialize in structural "saves"—closing cracks, resetting necks, and re-gluing bridges that have succumbed to the heat. We don't just repair the damage; we "climate-proof" your instrument for the long haul by also educating you and helping you create a safe environment for your instruments. 3. The Player’s Perspective Because we are musicians ourselves, we know that "factory specs" aren't enough. Every setup we perform is tailored to your specific attack, your string gauge, and your musical genre. If it isn't perfect, it doesn't leave the shop. When you trust us with your instrument, you benefit from: World-Class Certifications: We are an authorized service center for the "Big Three": C.F. Martin, Taylor Guitars (Gold Level), and Santa Cruz. In addition, we are Nevada’s only certified service center for Huss & Dalton, Guild, Cordoba, Takamine, and one of three shops in the US for Lowden guitars. Plek Technology: We utilize ultra-precise, computer-controlled fret leveling accurate to .0002 inches, scanned under real string tension. Total Transparency: We pride ourselves on honesty. We treat every instrument as if it were our own, and we will never recommend a service you don’t need. Our Promise Whether you are a touring professional or a hobbyist with your first heirloom, we offer a welcoming, educational experience. We don’t just fix guitars; we help you understand how to care for them so they can last for generations. Welcome to the new standard of lutherie.
